The Best Beaches on Menorca’s North Coast

Menorca, with its crystal-clear waters and light sandy beaches, offers stunning spots on both the north and south coasts.
The north coast of Menorca is characterized by a more rustic and wild landscape, with beaches and coves surrounded by nature in its purest form.

Desde Sonne Villas os dejamos algunas de las mejores playas del norte de Menorca:

  1. Cala Pregonda: This is one of Menorca’s most unique and photogenic beaches, thanks to its reddish sand and crystal-clear waters. It is surrounded by rock formations that create an almost lunar landscape. A 30-minute walk is required to reach it, but the stunning scenery is well worth the effort.
  2. Cavalleria Beach: This wide, golden-sand beach is known for its impressive cliffs and is an excellent spot to watch the sunset. It’s also a great opportunity to visit the Cavalleria Lighthouse.
  3. Cala Tortuga: Located near the Favaritx Lighthouse, this pristine beach stands out for its fine white sand and turquoise waters. It is a protected area, part of the s’Albufera des Grau Natural Park.
  4. Cala Pilar: Accessible only on foot or by boat, Cala Pilar is another secluded gem, known for its reddish sand and crystal-clear waters. The path to reach it can be challenging, but the natural surroundings and peaceful atmosphere make the walk well worth it.
  5. Binimel·là and Cala Mica Beaches: Binimel·là is a larger beach with spectacular scenery and turquoise waters, while Cala Mica, smaller and located to the east, offers a more intimate atmosphere. Both are excellent for a relaxing day and are less crowded than other beaches.
  6. Algaiarens Beach (La Vall): Comprising two main beaches, Es Tancats and Es Bot, this area is known for its wide stretch of soft, fine sand. La Vall is ideal for families and for those who enjoy long walks along the beach.

These beaches on Menorca’s north coast are perfect for those looking to escape the busier southern beaches and enjoy nature in a more peaceful, wild setting. To enjoy the northern beaches of Menorca at their best, it’s better to visit on days when there is no north wind or when north winds haven’t been blowing. Don’t forget to bring water and sun protection, as many of these beaches are quite remote and natural, with few tourist facilities.
